Seven days of eCommerce, compressed into the small number of items that will move your contribution margin.

This week a platform shipped an update nobody requested, and somebody in the members' area solved a 3PL problem for free that a consultancy had quoted at five figures. Everything below is arranged in the order we think you'll tolerate.

Tweet of the Week

Guide: $100k/day with Advertorials

Every email has two lines. You write one of them, test it, sweat over it, and leave the other to your ESP, which fills it with "View this email in your browser." Five tests across five clients say that abandoned line is worth up to 399% RPR. One added emoji did 191%. And the winning preview made more money on fewer opens, which is the preview finally doing a job nobody assigned it.

In partnership with Omnisend

Your email platform should do more than store your data.

It should help you understand it.

Omnisend’s newly upgraded connection with Claude and ChatGPT lets you ask questions about what’s actually happening inside your account - and get answers based on your real campaigns, automations, subscribers, purchase behaviour and deliverability data.

Ask things like:

💸 Where are we leaking revenue?
📈 Which automations are making the most money?
📬 Are our deliverability signals healthy?
🎯 Which customer segments should we target next?
🧠 What worked this month - and what should we change?

The latest upgrade adds granular permissions, including read-only access, sharper results and fully editable AI-created emails.

It doesn’t replace your marketer.

It removes the digging, surfaces the signal and helps good marketers move faster.

And for Workspace6 Inner Circle members, the timing couldn’t be better:

35% off your first three months
Migration handled for you
Up and running in as little as five business days

Your ESP - but inside the chat you already use.

Quick Shots

Peter Quadrel (Almost) Never Turn OFF an Ad

@binghott Too many marketers either don't understand this (or don't want to give up control)

Antonio Ventre How I diagnose a weak ad in 60 seconds before touching anything in the account:

@mrsharma a brand I know sells a ~$150 product at ~70% gross margins and did ~$15M last year

@MehtabKarta You can strip a lot of risk out of a consumer brand by shifting cost into fast-variable > slow-variable.

Meta advertisers: LOOK OUT

If you go to EDIT an ad, even just to look at an ad's settings without changing anything, the system automatically adds Related Media.

It won't publish automatically, buuuut, it will queue to publish the next time you publish other changes. Super sneaky.

So this means new ads and duplicated ads will be impacted too. If you're moving quickly and not expecting it, you'll miss it completely.

I've seen this in a few accounts and heard about it a bunch.

How to prevent/avoid for now:

  • Still on Klaviyo? This one’s for the Omnisend-curious. Omnisend’s new on-demand webinar in now live, walking DTC brands through how it stacks up against Klaviyo… and what it actually takes to migrate. Deniz, Omnisend’s Senior Onboarding & Migrations Manager, covers feature differences, pricing, SMS, support, common pain points, and the step-by-step migration process, from lists and segments to automations, deliverability, and onboarding support. • Ask your email guy which flow tests won last week. He stares at you blankly, there’s your answer. Zee.Media runs Email Flow CRO for $5M to $20M Shopify brands. Every week your flows get tested on revenue per recipient, and every winner stays in the account permanently. Bomber Eyewear at nine months: 89 tests, 50 winners, Klaviyo from 9.65% of revenue to 21.6%. (And growing.) Dr. Woof at four years: 35.75% and still climbing, on a brand that grew 9x underneath it. That's the week. Nothing in here demands action before Monday, which is the most a newsletter can honestly offer.

If something was useful, forward it to the person on your team who should have found it first. If something was wrong, reply and tell us. We'll take either.

Back soon, assuming eCommerce continues.
